Lockdown Food Delivery Service

How could we design a better experience for people ordering food from their phone?

What We Did
  • Service Design
  • UX Design
  • UI Design

Our main goal was to better understand app users and create a great user experience for them.

Research and Discovery

Going into a company which already has a working product presents certain challenges that a pre- launch start-up doesn’t have. Build cycles need to happen over planned periods and maintenance and building resilience into applications time-lined in a way which works for all involved parties.

We began with a deep dive competitor analysis to identify trends and positive habits being built into existing solutions.

We looked at existing takeaway applications to identify trends and common features.

Design & Refine / Define

We ran several workshop sprints with the team to unpick and understand specific challenges using the agile framework.

Defining and redefining problems to inform the design solution. This meant asking hard truths along the way to best allocate resources and create a sustainable roadmap / plan for the way forward.

Prototyping and Testing

All the learning from the previous stages was then combined into tangible wireframe elements to create low fidelity prototypes which were then tested with users repeatedly among the internal team. The feedback from these sessions then informed higher fidelity prototypes and were built alongside the development team for release.
